28 Series Contractor

The first of these machines rolled of the production line in January 2003. This range was introduced to place between the already successful 28 and 32 series machines. These machines feature designs taken from both the 28 and 32 series, to offer the customer a heavier built 28” disc plough well suited for the contracting market.

These machines can perform all the tasks the 28 Series range is capable of, but have the ability to work in harder conditions so often sort after by the contract farmer in Australia.

The frame design, gang positioning and gang angle are optimised for the best performance and lowest operating costs in all of the following operations:

  1. Trash control
  2. Stubble incorporation
  3. Paddock redevelopment
  4. Seedbed preparation
  5. Level finish

The gang angle and overall design of the machine has been optimised to require the minimum amount of horsepower to perform the job at hand, whilst also self sharpening the discs and achieving the required depth and tilth of the soil.

Features of these machines include:

  1. 200x100x9mm RHS frame
  2. 1 ½” Square Stationary Gang axle
  3. 28” Discs, 8mm front & 6mm rear
  4. Discs are manufactured from Boron Steel and hardened to 48-52 HRC for maximum wear and toughness
  5. Bearing Housings machined to close tolerances on CNC machinery from billet steel
  6. Bearings can be sealed or re-greasable, these are protected against foreign objects and feature additional seals
  7. Available in standard sizes from 11.58’ to 49.71’ (3.53m to 15.15m)
  8. Average weight 1,200kg/ metre of cut (800 Lbs/foot of cut), 130kg(286lbs) / disc
